Things To Do

The Grand Opera House

In Belfast and about a 25 minute drive down the motorway, but leave plenty of time for curtain up.

A beautiful theatre that was completely renovated in 2021 to bring back its original glory. You can check out the www.goh.co.uk website to see what’s on and hopefully secure some last minute tickets if you haven’t booked in advance.

W5 Science Museum

What Where When Why & How – this is a fun and interactive science museum over several floors. A great day out and a full day so get there early to explore and learn. In Belfast so about a 25min journey by car. In Belfast so follow the motorway and about a half hour drive.

Oxford Island Nature Reserve

A beautiful nature reserve with good open spaces to let the kids run free and enjoy the open air and freshness. Always a lovely day out and they often run educational events for the kids. From cottage, head to motorway and then right towards Craigavon. About 20mins drive near Lough Neagh.

Giants Causeway

The Giant’s Causeway is owned by The National Trust and is just one of those must-see places if you haven’t been to Northern Ireland before.

It’s a lovely walk from the visitor centre down to the Giant’s Causeway but it’s on the coast so wrap up warm as it can be a little windy. From the cottage, head towards Antrim and then pick up the motorway to the north Antrim coast. About 50 mins drive from the cottage and mixed with a day to the seaside (Portrush), it’s a great day out.

Let’s Go Hydro

Water thrills and more…. Prepare to get wet!

If you enjoy water based fun then Lets Go Hydro is a must see and do experience. Visitors and locals love the range of aqua activity on offer at this exciting water sports and alternative accommodation resort. The impressive outdoor attraction, including an inflatable floating obstacle course, provides fun for all. The course features an XXL Tower, slides, climbing wall, hurdles, wiggle disks, ramp, podiums and a floating trampoline.

Fun for all the family and friends. Booking advised.

Located near Carryduff and about a 30 minutes drive from the cottage.
